Meet Me in Columbia: I’ll Be at the Book Chicks Author Expo This Saturday
There is something special about seeing a book leave your hands and enter someone else’s.
Writing is often such a quiet process. It happens in early mornings, late nights, between responsibilities, inside half-filled notebooks, and in those moments when an idea simply refuses to leave you alone. Then one day, the words become a book and that book finds its way to someone who needed exactly what you wrote.
This Saturday, August 15, I’ll be in Columbia, South Carolina for the Book Chicks Author Expo, and I would love to see you there.
The expo will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Venue 817, 817 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC.
And yes… I’m bringing the books.

Herbal Harmony
A Comprehensive Guide to Using Herbs for Reproductive Health
Herbal Harmony was created for women who want to better understand the relationship between herbs, the reproductive system, and whole-body wellness. It brings together traditional herbal knowledge and practical education in a way that encourages women to become active participants in understanding their bodies.

Sometimes wellness requires more than adding something new. Sometimes we need to clear, reset, reconnect, and begin again.
Root & Recalibrate is an invitation to become more intentional about what
we consume, how we nourish ourselves, and the practices that support the body's natural systems. It is about creating space for restoration rather than constantly asking the body to perform without support.
Recipe & Ritual: Food as Frequency
Food is nourishment but it can also be memory, culture, medicine, comfort, connection, and ritual.
Recipe & Ritual explores the relationship between what we eat and how we care for
ourselves, bringing together recipes and intentional practices designed to make nourishment something we experience rather than simply consume.

One of my favorite things about events like this is the conversation that happens around the books.
Because books have a way of becoming gathering places.
They start conversations between people who may never have met otherwise.
A Celebration of Authors Becoming Brands
The theme of the Book Chicks Author Expo is “Where Authors Become Brands,” and I appreciate that distinction.
A book may be the thing sitting on the table, but behind every book is a body of work.
There is an idea.
A philosophy.
A community.
A purpose.
And sometimes an entire movement that began because someone decided their knowledge, imagination, or experience deserved to exist beyond the confines of their own mind.
For me, writing has always been another extension of teaching. Whether I am talking about herbs, reproductive wellness, nourishment, or traditional approaches to caring for the body, the goal remains the same: to give people information they can actually carry with them and use.
Books simply allow that conversation to travel farther than I can.
